Q: How many coats of paint will I need for interior work?
A: "It depends on the colors. If the new color is just a different shade of the old color, one coat will be fine. If the colors are very different, you’ll probably need two coats. In extreme cases, like painting a deep-red wall with white paint, you may need three coats. Our proposal will tell you exactly how many coats of paint you need and give you options if you want to add additional coats."
Q: Do I need to reapply a coat of primer every time I paint?
A: "Primer is an adhesive and sealer. For exterior work, you should reapply a coat of primer every time you paint in order to protect the wood. The primer is the first coat and the paint is the second. For interior work, you only have to prime the walls once, and that’s usually done when the house is built. After that, you never need to apply primer again."
Q: Do you paint furniture?
A: "No. We’ll stain outdoor deck furniture, but we don’t paint furniture. That’s a different specialty."
Q: What if I like the color of the paint but not the shade?
A: "We can provide a color strip that contains lighter and darker versions of the color you like."
