Q: Will you be available to start my job right away?
A: "For a minor repair job, we can usually be at your house within 24 hours. For a larger job, like a remodel, we’re usually available by the time the proposal is written and accepted. The contract process gives us several weeks of lead time."
Q: How long will my remodeling project take to complete?
A: "It varies with the job, but two to three months is typical for a major remodel. We can give you a rough estimate in advance, but we provide a firm schedule alongside the complete proposal. We can’t estimate time accurately until we’ve worked out all the details."
Q: Do you work on all types of remodeling projects?
A: "There are a few things we don’t do, but generally the answer is yes. We handle everything from doorknob replacements to lifting up houses and installing additions. We’re happy to do small jobs as well. If we prove ourselves on a small project, we know you’ll call us back for a larger one."
Q: Do you provide a written proposal in advance?
A: "Yes, for larger jobs. For a small job, we’ll just give you a verbal quote. For a mid-size job, we’ll give you a verbal quote initially, and if you accept it we’ll prepare a detailed breakdown in writing."
Q: Do you take care of permits?
A: "Yes, but we also give our customers the option to do it themselves. Not only can that save them hundreds of dollars, but it also gets them involved in the process and helps them understand the work we’re going to do."
