Q: Isn’t it better to go to a dealer for BMW repairs?
A: "No. Using a qualified, independent technician is just as good. We’re trained by BMW to service their cars, just like dealers, and we use BMW-approved parts. Using a BMW-qualified independent repair shop won’t invalidate your warranty. Independent technicians can also be more flexible, which saves you money. For instance, if something goes wrong with one of the 12 parts in a cooling system, a dealer will replace the entire system—that’s their policy. We may be able to repair it by just replacing the three or four faulty parts."
Q: How much will my service or repair cost?
A: "We can give you an exact estimate on a routine service over the phone, but if there’s anything wrong with the car, we need to diagnose it first. We can’t do that without taking the car into one of our bays and having a look. We’ll assess the problem and call you back with an estimate before we do any kind of repair."
Q: How long will the repair take?
A: "We’ll give you a time estimate when you drop the car off, and we’re usually spot-on. Most repairs take less than a day, although big jobs like transmission problems can take two or more days."
Q: Can you guarantee my car won’t break down after the repair?
A: "We do our absolute best to ensure that any repair we do will permanently fix the problem. We don’t apply ‘band-aid’ solutions, and we don’t let a car out of the shop unless we believe it’s safe and properly repaired. But we can’t offer a 100 percent guarantee that a problem won’t recur. It’s just the nature of complicated machines."
