Q: How often should I have my carpets cleaned?
A: "That depends on how much you use them. The easy answer is to have them cleaned whenever they look dirty. But some lightly used areas may not look dirty, even though they’ve been gathering dust and particles. To keep the life and look of your carpets, you should have them cleaned at least once a year, even if they don’t look like they need it."
Q: Is it true that once you clean your carpets, they’re never the same?
A: "Not exactly. That’s a myth with a grain of truth. If you use a soap or shampoo to clean a carpet, the residue will attract dirt and necessitate more frequent cleaning. But professional cleaning products like the ones we use don’t leave a residue and don’t resoil as often."
Q: Can you remove stains?
A: "Usually, yes. We do a special spot treatment for stains and problem areas. We can often remove most stains, or at least lighten them and make them less noticeable. Unfortunately, some stains are permanent and there’s little we can do without damaging the carpet."
Q: Will professional cleaning prematurely wear down my carpet?
A: "No. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Dirt in the carpet will wear the fibers quickly. It’s best to remove the dirt as soon as possible."
Q: What should I do to keep my carpets clean between cleanings?
A: "Regular vacuuming, at least weekly, is best. If there’s a spot or stain, treat it immediately with a product appropriate for carpet."
