Q: How long will it take to complete my project?
A: "When we start the design process, we’ll give you a timeframe estimate and adhere to it as closely as possible. We have an excellent track record of meeting or beating the schedules we set."
Q: How much does a typical project cost?
A: "It depends on the extent of the project, but we can work within any budget. We carry a full line of cabinetry and plumbing products that range in price from value-driven to fully custom, which allows us to come up with creative solutions that best fit our clients’ needs and budgets."
Q: How do you handle problems and issues if they arise during a job?
A: "Our size is crucial for avoiding problems and making sure any issues get handled immediately. We’re large enough that we can move staff around if necessary and put additional resources on a job to resolve a problem, and we’re small enough that we can effectively communicate with clients and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Our organizational skills allow us to respond quickly and resolve issues before they become too serious."
Q: Do you have your own showroom?
A: "Yes, we have a 2,000-square-foot kitchen and bathroom showroom in Walnut Creek called Altera Design Kitchen & Bath. This allows us to handle every phase of our clients’ projects, including design, product selection and ordering, build-out and project management. Our in-house designers and craftsmen provide highly detailed project oversight from beginning to end."
Q: What’s your process for design/build projects?
A: "We implement a four-step process that’s designed to be simple, straightforward and transparent. Phase 1 is the consultation phase: We conduct a complimentary site visit to understand the client’s needs as well as the project scope, timing and budget. Phase 2 is the design phase: We take measurements and pictures of the site and discuss design details like style, layout and appliances. We also develop a detailed scope of work and an estimate based on our design. Phase 3 is the product phase: We confirm design details; select products and materials; create construction drawings and a building permit package; obtain building permits; receive, verify and inspect products and materials; and walk through the project with the homeowner prior to build-out. Phase 4 is the build-out phase: We complete remodeling, install products, secure required building inspections and conduct a final site visit with the homeowner to ensure complete satisfaction."
