The “Must-Haves” in Kitchen Cabinets

If you’re lucky enough to be planning a kitchen remodel, you are thinking a lot about what features you’ll want in your cabinets. Andrew Wilson, a partner with the Cabinet Center, a Diamond Certified company, advises customers to choose full extension soft close hinges and to get as many roll-outs in the base cabinets that you can afford. He says most people also “must have” a pantry with roll-out drawers and Lazy Susans in the corner.

Any kitchen remodel involves the unexpected. Sometimes, for example, once the old cabinets are removed, the contractor will discover that the walls are not lined up properly. You may also discover foundation problems. For this reason, the most important “must-have” is a competent local contractor who will guide you through the construction process and warn you ahead of time about all the inconveniences you will have to endure.
