Method Paving Comparative Summary

Method Paving installs paving stones, natural stone surfaces and stamped concrete for residential clients throughout the Bay Area. Its projects include driveways, walkways, patios, pool decks and other applications. The company was founded in 2007, but its owner, Rick Pestana, has been providing paving services to Bay Area homeowners for more than a decade.

When clients call Method Paving, Mr. Pestana comes to their homes with samples, catalogues and pictures of completed projects. “We design every job ourselves,” he says. “We also give customers local addresses of some of our completed jobs so they can look at them.” Mr. Pestana says his company never engages in high-pressure sales tactics. “We try to make it an enjoyable process. We want clients to make decisions because they’re excited about getting the job done, not because we’ve pressured them.”

Method Paving’s installers are all employees, not subcontractors or day laborers. “I truly think we have one of the best paving stone crews in the Bay Area,” says Mr. Pestana. “They treat every house like it was their own.”

Mr. Pestana says Method Paving is proud of every job it completes. “We’re here to guide our customers and share our expertise. We want to implement their visions, but if something’s not going to work, we’ll let them know. If someone already has a great design, we’ll work with it. If not, we’ll improve it until what we both envision is what goes on the ground.”
