Few companies in the solar energy field earn the prestigious Diamond Certified award, which means they’ve been independently rated Highest in Quality. And with the recent increase in the number of solar power companies in the United States, even fewer solar contractors can claim more than 30 years of success, but that’s exactly the case for Bruce Gordon, co-owner of Horizon Energy Systems. “I’ve been in this industry since 1979,” says Mr. Gordon, who works alongside his son, Dennis Gordon, an 18-year solar veteran. “My experience allows us to offer a higher level of service to each customer.”
Horizon Energy Systems installs and services all types of solar electric, solar pool and solar hot water systems for residential and commercial clients throughout Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Mateo and Alameda counties. “People are really getting excited about solar, especially in this area,” says Director of Operations John Juarez. “There are so many options and ways solar can benefit our customers.”
Unlike newer solar contractors, Horizon Energy Systems employs only highly trained and experienced solar energy professionals. “Our installation team is made up of craftsmen who use the highest-quality products on the market and have the experience and training to make every installation look great and work correctly,” explains Mr. Juarez. “With Bruce’s 30 years of experience and our crew’s training and dedication, our customers can expect to sit back, relax and enjoy all the benefits of their new systems.”
To further differentiate itself from solar companies that haphazardly spread solar panels around roofs to avoid obstacles like plumbing vents and chimneys, Horizon Energy Systems’ staff takes care to make every installation look like it’s an original part of the building design. “We move vents and stacks so we can place all the panels in one area, rather than scatter them like small pieces,” confirms Mr. Gordon. “For new homes, we’ll work with contractors to design how the panels will fit on the roofs. For an existing home, we use an architecturally designed mounting system that makes the solar modules look more like a part of the roof and not like a later addition.”
