When you contact C&J Fencing, the first thing you may notice is how you’re treated—“like an individual, not a number,” says owner Chris French. He and his team strive to make every customer feel as though he or she is the only customer.
Founded in 1990 by Mr. French and his wife Jennifer, C&J Fencing specializes in redwood fencing and wood retaining walls for residential and commercial clients. Mr. French and his staff bring more than 40 years of combined experience in design, construction and maintenance of outdoor living spaces.
C&J Fencing uses the highest quality redwood boards, supplied through its own lumberyard. The boards are thicker than other redwood boards, says Mr. French, with “beefy” 16-foot top rails that hold the fence stronger and straighter for a longer time. Compared to other fencing companies, C&J uses longer posts, sinks them deeper into the ground and anchors them more securely. That means the posts stay perfectly straight for far longer, rather than “starting to lean after three years,” says Mr. French.
The company hires only the most experienced foremen with expertise in all types of construction. Custom requests—whatever they may be—are never a problem.
A single foreman allocated to each job for its duration ensures your fence construction stays on schedule and on track. You always have a single point of contact, someone intimately familiar with your project who can address all your questions or concerns.
C&J Fencing employees clean thoroughly once a job is complete, taking care to leave the work site in the same or better condition than when they arrived. Debris is removed the same day, not left stacked in the yard to create an eyesore. Upon request, the company will remove existing structures at no charge, recycling all leftover wood.
The company also uses wood sealants that are free of harmful chemicals and meet all AWPA (American Wood Protection Agency) standards.
Most fencing companies offer warranties for labor only, says Mr. French. But C&J covers its redwood fences against dry rot and insect damage after construction is completed.
