BTM Motorwerks provides specialized service and repair for German automobiles, including models like Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Volkswagen. The Campbell-based company is known for its precise four wheel alignment service, and it also builds, tunes and races performance vehicles. “It takes a lot of skill and ingenuity to build and race a competitive car,” says owner Brad McClure. “Racing cars is mostly custom work, but we transfer that focus and passion to the work we do for our regular customers.”

Mr. McClure says a key component to BTM Motorwerks’ quality service is its technicians, who are all ASE-certified and continually attend training seminars to keep current with the newest industry advancements. “New car models and technologies are constantly coming out, and we have to keep pace.” To this end, the shop is fully equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and repair equipment, including Piwis diagnostic systems for Porsches, the Auto Logic Mercedes Star, and similar systems for Audis and Volkswagens. “We also have a Hunter alignment system that uses high-definition cameras to ensure the accuracy of our wheel alignments.”

BTM Motorwerks applies a five-step process to diagnose and repair problems with customers’ cars. “The first step is to get a good problem statement,” says Mr. McClure. “That means talking with the customer to determine exactly what’s wrong. The second step is to reproduce the problem for our technicians. The next step is to diagnose what’s causing the problem. Fourth is to fix the problem, and the final step is to verify the proficiency of the repair.”

In the interest of reducing its carbon footprint, BTM Motorwerks has also adopted Green business practices. It engages in environmentally-safe repair work, and its facility features low-flow plumbing and compact fluorescent light bulbs.
