The quality of car repairs at Blossom Valley Collision in San Jose is directly related to the rigorous training and certification its staff receives, says owner Nick Campos. Because it’s an I-CAR Gold shop, the company’s employees undergo ongoing training—at least two classes a year—to keep abreast of new technologies, materials and designs, and to maintain a clear understanding of how to properly restore cars to their factory specifications.
All of Blossom Valley’s repair technicians have at least ten years’ experience in the industry. “I have a really good relationship with my employees,” says Mr. Campos, who’s been in the auto body repair business since 1979 and in charge of Blossom Valley Collision since 2001.
As a “preferred shop” for AAA, GEICO, State Farm, Mercury, Liberty Mutual, Farmers, Progressive, Allstate, and other insurance companies, Blossom Valley Collision can streamline the insurance claim process, reducing the time and paperwork required to get the necessary repairs completed and paid for. Once customers provide the insurance claim number, the company takes it from there, negotiating and dealing with insurance companies. And since it’s a preferred shop, estimates are complete and starts work right away—there’s no need to schedule a review by an insurance adjuster, so customers gets their cars back faster.
Once a car comes in to Blossom Valley Collision, it goes through a process of “blueprinting.” Technicians break the car down and determine exactly what work needs to be done and what parts need to be ordered. This prevents delays due to late discovery and ordering of extra parts, like clips and brackets.
Blossom Valley Collision is dedicated to making sure customers are informed at all stages of the repair process and are satisfied with the quality of the work. “We want customers to be comfortable with us,” says Mr. Campos. “Throughout the process, we explain what repairs we’re doing and keep customers informed. They should never have to call us to ask what’s going on; we call them instead. And after the repairs are complete, we follow up to ensure they’re satisfied.”
