Bay-Valley Pest Control, Inc. has been providing pest control services for Santa Clara County homeowners and businesses since 1986. Family-owned and operated by Clifford and Mary Reese, the company handles infestations of rats, mice, bedbugs, roaches, spiders, fleas, ants and silverfish, and it also offers rodent exclusion repairs. All its technicians are licensed pest control field representatives and are trained and certified to apply pesticides.

When customers call Bay-Valley Pest Control, they speak to a company representative who can answer questions and schedule appointments at the same time. “Our clients really appreciate that they don’t have to wait for a technician to call them back,” says Mrs. Reese.

Bay-Valley Pest Control specializes in integrated pest management (IPM), a system that applies a variety of methods that are tailored to the type of pest and the specific environment being treated. IPM also means using the least toxic solutions to solve infestation problems. “The techniques we apply depend on the pests’ biology and how they arrive in the area,” says Mrs. Reese. “For spiders, we apply a spot treatment around windows, doors and ceiling corners. For a flea problem, we treat carpets and baseboards throughout the house. We put out baited traps for rats and mice and use growth regulators for bedbugs and cockroaches.”

Bay-Valley Pest Control’s IPM techniques include changing a property’s environment to make it less attractive to pests. “For a rat problem, we might advise cutting back ivy that provides harborage; they’ll leave rather than remain exposed,” explains Mrs. Reese. “An ant problem might be caused by tree fruit that’s left on the ground. Once we remove the fruit, the ants will leave the area.”

Mrs. Reese says Bay-Valley Pest Control emphasizes customer service above all. “We treat every customer the way we’d want to be treated. We listen to their concerns, answer their questions and educate them on how to solve their problems.”
