Bavarian Tuning is a Santa Rosa-based BMW service and repair shop that serves drivers in Sonoma, Marin, Napa and Solano Counties. The company’s state-of-the-art facility contains diagnostic equipment and tools that allow its technicians to properly care for BMWs. “All the parts we use are approved by BMW of North America,” says owner and president Billy Maher. “We use high-quality parts from firms like Dinan Engineering, Brembo and Remus Exhaust.”

Mr. Maher is a BMW-certified Master Technician who has 35 years’ experience working on BMWs. He founded Bavarian Tuning in 2003 and says the company has since built a reputation for providing quality work. “I work in the shop, and that adds a lot to our credibility. When I was young, I went through an apprenticeship with the German engineers at BMW. Now, I pass that knowledge on to our other technicians. That kind of professional development has disappeared in most shops.

“We also stand behind what we do,” he continues. “If there’s anything a customer isn’t happy about, even if it’s unrelated to the work we did, we want to hear about it and correct it.”

Bavarian Tuning also brings its knowledge and experience of the racing circuit back to its shop. Since 2006, the firm has been running a Tiger Racing team, taking what it learns in the pit and applying it to the ordinary BMWs that belong to its customers.
