How to Work With
Expect Accurate Auto Repair Estimates From Solano County Car Mechanics

Emergency car repairs don’t have to be such a setback. Now that you’ve found a local Solano County auto repair shop you trust for regular vehicle maintenance, it will give you peace of mind while dealing with your mechanics even if your repairs are unexpected.

First, you’ll want to meet in person with the service writer and explain the car problems you’re experiencing. Use the notes you took so that you’re able to accurately describe the concerns you have and what you’re experiencing. Be as specific as possible, and don’t let the mechanic or auto center staff rush you. It’s also important to answer their questions and hear their suggestions. If you don’t understand the repair shop’s recommendations or explanations, ask for clarification so you completely understand the problem and the solutions.

All estimates must be provided to you in writing before the work begins. This estimate must include the total estimated cost for all parts and labor and an itemized list of all parts needed and the method of repair. Remember, for your protection, never sign a blank work order. If a more thorough diagnosis is needed for an accurate estimate on auto repair costs, the estimate you sign may include just the cost of the car repair diagnosis and estimated auto repair labor cost. However, if the final auto repair costs are more than the original estimate, the technicians must contact you before performing the repairs and your approval must be noted on the estimate and the invoice.

Sign a Contract with Your Solano Vehicle Repair Shop for Auto Repairs
When you’re satisfied with the information your Solano County repair shop has provided, sign the estimate and agreement. Verify that the repair shop has your daytime phone number so they can reach you to get your approval for any additional repairs not listed on the original work order.

Good mechanics in Solano County including those in the larger cities of Vallejo, Suisun City, Fairfield, Vacaville and Benicia, will allow you to see the used auto parts they’ve replaced. Remember, it’s your legal right to have old and damaged parts returned to you if you ask the repair shop for them before signing the service agreement. Mechanics may not be able to return to you parts that are under warranty as they may need to be returned to the supplier, but you still have the right to see them.
