Mr. Moore also suggests using social networking websites and sites that rate businesses—like Diamond Certified—provided they feature unbiased reviews from customers and aren’t simply paid advertisements. He also recommends you stick with shops that have good certifications from rating agencies like AAA.
ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) recognizes highly qualified repair facilities, allowing them to showcase their technicians and commitment to excellence. You can look for ASE’s Blue Seal of Excellence logo in a shop, which identifies establishments with a large percentage of ASE-certified professionals.
“Don’t forget that you’re in control of handing over your keys,” says Mr. Moore. If you don’t get a good feeling from the people working at a particular shop, leave. “Don’t be afraid to say, ‘No thanks,’ and take your car somewhere else. It's your money and your vehicle—take it to someone you trust”
