In business for over 20 years, Independent Exchange Services, Inc. is a nationwide company that provides Internal Revenue Code Section 1031 exchange services to real estate investors and others. Their goal is to help you defer paying capital gain taxes when you buy and sell investment property. “Investment property” can include both real and personal property held for investment or used in a trade or business. The taxpayer is allowed to invest the equity accrued from the sale of one property into the replacement or “trade” property without paying high capital gains taxes.
