Tom Ashkenas worked as a contractor for many years while pursuing a Master’s degree in journalism. In the end, his love for handiwork drew him back to the construction field. Since 1979, his Berkeley-based construction company has been designing, building and remodeling homes in the East Bay, Marin County and San Francisco areas.

Their small and dedicated crew has worked together for many years. They specialize in beautiful designs, fine carpentry and remodeling/additions. They are capable of handling large-scale work, yet no project is too small. The same people who design your project will also build it, so the work is completed seamlessly and often without the need for multiple subcontractors. In addition, Tom also has no problem working with outside designers and architects. “Green technology” is employed whenever possible to make homes energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
